Jerry's Map

Thanks to Dan Raven Ellison for the tip-off to this amazing video.

This video of the work of Jerry Gretzinger is two years old, but seems to have been picked up recently by blogs.

It's an inspirational video which shows what you can do with time and a crazy system that somehow works.

I love the idea of the pack of cards to make the decisions, and would really like to think about how that could be made to work in a classroom situation... In fact I might go out and buy some cards to customise. Need to think through how this might work as a geography project.

I also like the rhythms of the map, the collages, the abstract forms, and the steady iterations...

Update: just been successful in a bid on eBay for a unique signed print of a section of Jerry's map - very exciting....
